Electronic Check Representment (RCK)
In September 1998, the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) changed its rule to allow NSF checks to be recovered electronically. This new procedure is referred to as RCK. Since NSF checks and check recovery fees can now be debited directly from the check writer's account, merchants can recover more money in less time with little to no cost!
With RCK, CheckBack quickly converts and processes NSF checks as electronic transactions. Using the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network, CheckBack debits your customer's account for the face amount of the returned check plus a recovery fee. If the funds are not recovered on the first attempt, CheckBack monitors the account and strategically times a second attempt within 30 days. Recovered funds are transferred to your bank account within 7 to 10 days of recovery.
